Geoff Squire

These short pieces are based on my memories of growing up in Branscombe in the 1930s and 40s. I was born in 1934 and my father was headteacher at Branscombe Primary School from 1933 until his retirement in 1962.  These early experiences and interests helped to shape my education at school and Cambridge,  leading to my working life in geography and environmental education.   I retired from my post as senior lecturer in geography education at Reading University in 1995 but I continued to work for the Open University as a teacher and consultant until  2006.
